4   Day Classic Safari Tour   Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kruger National Park

In the early morning, we pick you up at the airport or your hotel in Johannesburg (or at the local airport). The drive from Johannesburg to Paul Kruger Gate takes about 5-6 hours with a comfortable air conditioned vehicle. Paul Kruger Gate is one of the entries to Kruger National Park near Hazyview in Mpumalanga Province. During the transfer you can buy provisions or have a quick meal at one of the rest stops along the way (total stopping time ̴ 1 hour). At Paul Kruger Gate you will change vehicles as from now on we’re using an Open Safari Vehicle. This type of car gives you a 180 degrees panoramic view of the African savannah with a full experience of all smells and sounds, and a perfect vantage point to see over high grasses and bushes. We reach Skukuza Rest Camp after your first game drive, just before the gate closes for the night. After check-in, you can have a meal of your own choice at the Camp’s restaurant. We have an early night to be ready for the full day Safari the next day.

Day 2 & 3

Safari experience and bush braai

We get up at dawn to make the most of our Kruger Safari. Your guide prepares a quick coffee and snack as we get on our way. We spend the morning in search of all the iconic animal species including the Big 5 with a dedicated professional field guide, who will frequent dams, waterholes and riverbeds where animals are most frequently seen to maximize animal viewing opportunities. He will also show you different landscapes and tell you about the importance of vegetation and soil for different animal species that live there.

Later in the morning, we stop at one of the picnic spots or at the rest camp, where your guide prepares a delicious cooked breakfast for you.

For lunch, we stop again at one of the rest camps. We continue our safari until the late afternoon, when we arrive at our new camp (Day 2: Satara / Day 3: Letaba) where you can spend the last few hours of daylight resting at the pool wandering around the camp or having a look at the gift shop. Meanwhile, your guide prepares a rustic bush braai for you to celebrate your Kruger Park adventure (day 2) or an easy cooked dinner (day 3).

After returning to the camp you can spend the last few hours of daylight resting at the pool, wandering around the camp or having a look at the gift shop. Meanwhile, your guide prepares a rustic bush braai for you to celebrate your Kruger Park adventure.

Day 4

Last game drive and return to Johannesburg

After an early departure on the last safari of this tour we drive towards Phalaborwa Gate. At the gate, your transfer vehicle awaits you to drive you back to Johannesburg (or the nearest airport), where this tour ends. Whether you continue your journey in Africa or return back home, you will take a lifetime of unforgettable memories with you of your African safari experience.
